Invitations come in all forms. It’s startling sometimes. Yesterday morning I woke up knowing exactly what I needed to do to fix the mobile responsiveness issue I had with my site. The reason I purchased this theme a while back was that it was suppose to display properly on all mobile devices, and it does, except for the navigation menu and header (if you use an header image and I’m trying to). Ah well! But I fixed it! I tested it! This is week 5 of my live 8 week personal website challenge.
That done, I went on.
However, at day’s end I realized I never really fixed anything at all – it felt a bit shocking – the fix didn’t take. Later, I learned that what appeared to be a work-a-round wasn’t. The invitation, that is the information I thought was going to help, was a side trip. It was an invitation that didn’t go anywhere but left me exactly where I was at the beginning of the day.
John Kabat-Zinn wrote a book entitled, Wherever You Go, There You Are – so true. But, sometimes you think you are some place else. In many ways, I’m back at the beginning. I’ve learned a lot, but I’m starting anew. That’s not a bad place to be. By the way I recommend this book whether you are new to meditation or have a regular practice.
If revamping a site was like meditating, then I’d be at peace with it all.
And, so I am. I’m also at peace with the feelings in the pit of my stomach. LOL!
A new theme is on my wish list now, but this isn’t the time to change it up. Or, is it? Well, that’s for next week. Until then, keep enjoying and playing with those invitations – usually they make for a good story!
